The name "Pawns & Kings" and the Crowned Pawn logo is a reference to the idea of chess being a metaphor for life. The chessboard is a symbol representing Paradox, Dichotomy, or Duality; anything and everything having two opposing sides. Everything has an opposite. All things are dichotomous. The two sides are dependent upon each other. One can not be distinguished and does not exist without an opposite to contrast against. The Crowned Pawn is a symbol to represent the dichotomy of Power. The crown represents authority and the pawn represents subjection. Power is not absolute, but rather, a matter of opinion. It is constantly shifting and changing hands. The One whom YOU perceive to have the power, the King, is a pawn to someone else. It is the One who has the knowledge who has the REAL power. The Illuminated Seal is a mandala symbol meaning, "Knowledge is power." It represents the third eye. The Eye is a symbol for awareness or enlightenment. The laurel branches are a symbol for knowledge and the crown is a symbol of power. Knowledge and Power are another dichotomy. The hexagram is a sacred geometric shape and it is a symbol for Knowledge. The Illuminated Seal is the eye of the Spirit.
...Knowledge is power.
